The festival is in and around the grandstand on the racecourse, in the centre of the City down by the river.
It’s an easy 15 minute walk from Foregate Street railway station. Exit the station, cross the road, walk down the pedestrian street opposite alongside the railway viaduct. Keep on going, down past the library. Cross the main road at the lights and follow the path around the edge of the racecourse to the grandstand.
There’s no car parking at the grandstand, but lots around the railway viaduct and at the racecourse entrance on Severn Terrace.
The festival is inside and around the racecourse grandstand.
Inside there are three floors, with the beer on the ground floor and cider/perry/wine on the first floor, and a quiet area at the top. There’s a lift between the floors so everywhere is accessible. The grandstand terracing is available to sit and sup with a view over the racecourse to the City.
There’s a tent outside for music, giving us lots of space and seating under cover. There’s plenty of tables and chairs to sit outside. Feel free to bring a picnic (no BBQs), but you can’t bring your own drinks.
There’s no camping available on the racecourse or elsewhere in the City centre, except for volunteers who are working at the festival.
Children are welcome until 9pm. Parents and guardians must look after children at all times.
Sorry but the site is not suitable for dogs, so it’s service dogs only.
Other than some of the caterers, the event is cashless. You’ll need to bring a credit card or contactless payment gadget.
So it’s card payments for:
- Buying a ticket at the gate on the day
- Buying beer, cider, perry or wine
Your entrance fee gets you onto the site and you get a glass to keep (bring a bag to get it home safely!), but it doesn’t include any drinks.
Members should take advantage of CAMRA‘s nationwide free entry initiative by pre-booking a ticket online so you only need to pay for your glass and programme. Now that’s a deal that can’t be missed! You need to remember to bring your CAMRA Membership Card along with your pre-purchased ticket on the day.
Be aware that this does not include On The Door Sales. Any CAMRA Member walking up on the day without a ticket will have to pay full price.
We strive to offer options for various dietary requirements. Please ask at the bars for information on gluten-free beers, ciders, and perries. Food vendors will also display allergen information
The grandstand and enclosure are wheelchair accessible.
There is a lift to the first and second floor of the grandstand.
There are accessible toilets on the ground floor of the grandstand.
There is no parking at the grandstand, and you can expect very limited parking on Grand Stand Road. Blue Badge holders can park in Croft Road car park (underneath the railway arches) at the end of Grand Stand Road, 450m from the event, free for 3 hours.
Here’s the small print and legal stuff.
- Anyone lucky enough to look under 25 will be asked for ID, so don’t forget to bring it along.
- Well-behaved children are welcome up to 9pm each day, but must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian. Young people (under 18) accompanied by an adult will be admitted free of charge, but they do not receive a glass and cannot drink alcohol. All reasonable precautions have been taken to ensure visitor safety, but for the safety of children and others the parent or guardian of a child found to be unsupervised or misbehaving may be asked to leave the festival with the child.
- For safety and security reasons, bags will be searched on entry. If drugs or dangerous items are found you will not be allowed in – and if any are found later you will be asked to leave.
